Song: Last Friday Night by Katy Perry, link (It does have a few bad words in the actual version… but if you sing the parody loud enough, you can drown them out :D)
.
There’s ten notebooks in my bed
and plot bunnies in my head
Pencils all over the room
My protag just won a duel
There’s a dent in my spacebar
But Chapter 30’s really far
I just won a word war, too
My antag feels pretty blue
And I spent all night
On the NaNo site
Oh dude…..
Oh well…
And I’m not quite sure
But I think that page just ruled
….Man!
Last Friday night
Yeah, we typed on our laptops
And the bad guys fired shots
Think I blogged but I forgot
Last Friday night
Yeah we played virtual cards
And got NaNo pretty far
Traded Piplup for Chimchar
Last Friday night
We went swinging in the park
But went home when it got dark
‘Cause we listened to our moms
Last Friday night
Used our pen tablets to draw
Always say we’re gonna stop-op
Whoa-oh-oah
This Friday night
Do it all again
This Friday night
Do it all again
Playing hardcore Connect the Dots
Beat the final Zelda boss
Cleaned the windows on the car
Charie profiles on the floor
Now my fluency’s a mess
Supporting characters all distressed
Made Butterbeer with ginger ale
This verse’s an epic fail
And I spent all night
On the NaNo site
Oh dude…..
Oh well…
And I’m not quite sure
But I think that page just ruled
….Man!
Last Friday night
Yeah, we typed on our laptops
And the bad guys fired shots
Think I blogged but I forgot
Last Friday night
Yeah we played virtual cards
And got NaNo pretty far
Traded Piplup for Chimchar
Last Friday night
We went swinging in the park
But went home when it got dark
‘Cause we listened to our moms
Last Friday night
Used our pen tablets to draw
Always say we’re gonna stop-op
Whoa-oh-oah
This Friday night
Do it all again
Do it all again
This Friday night
Do it all again
Do it all again
This Friday night
We are novelists
We are novelists
We are novelists
We are novelists
We are novelists
We are novelists
.
Last Friday night
Yeah, we typed on our laptops
And the bad guys fired shots
Think I blogged but I forgot
Last Friday night
Yeah we played virtual cards
And got NaNo pretty far
Traded Piplup for Chimchar
Last Friday night
We went swinging in the park
But went home when it got dark
‘Cause we listened to our moms
Last Friday night
Used our pen tablets to draw
Always say we’re gonna stop-op
Whoa-oh-oah
This Friday night
Do it all again

I hate that song, but the beat’s kinda catchy, so I started singing my own version. This is how it came out. Suggestions for the next parody? Comment.
Oh, and I think it’s really funny how well this picture works for BOTH songs.
Man, your geekness is oozin out Girl… You should have been in San Diego this weekend with all your fellow peeps. You should do a Friday Night @ comic con version….
XD Next year we’ll have to do more than just stand outside. And I’ll give you lessons so you’re able to recognize every cosplayer at the Con! We’ll start with the basics (Ouran blazer), and move up to more complicated things like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy.
And I’ll teach you about voice actors, too, so you can know Vic Mignogna and Maxey Whitehead and Todd Haberkorn or J. Michael Tatum based on appearance, voice, and roles.
LET’S DO THIS.
Also, note the line
“‘Cause we listen to our moms.”
Yeah. ❤
Dude.
I think this song is awesome.
But this parody is BETTER.
We’re going to see Katy Perry like, today. In concert. And now I’ll be singing along to your lyrics instead of hers.
THIS IS AWESOME.
AWESOME, have fun in concert! That must be so cool 🙂
No, no, sing HER lyrics, not mine 😀 But enjoy the show.
I think you just saved Friday in my eyes after what Rebecca Black did to it.
High praise, and I thank you for it!
No, you did blog last Friday. XD
….And I’m dead again…..
XD I laughed. Really hard.
I know, when I was writing this I went, “it would be really, really bad to forget to blog.
Great parody! I hate the song, too. Your parody has improved upon it well. Maybe you could do a parody to Tonight Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae? My friends are obsessed with it, and I would like better lyrics to go with the horribly catchy beat.
Gah, I hate that song so much. The music video is only slightly better because Harry Freaking Potter is in it for 2 seconds at the beginning. But your parody? Beautiful. A much more accurate (and puke free) Friday night for… well hopefully a lot of people.
Thanks! 😀 I take pride in puke-free song parodies.
My friend made me watch the music video (the trade-off for the All Caps stuff I was showing her) and I was just confused. What part of all that looks “fun”? If I woke up with a stranger in my bed I would probably cut them up and throw them out the window.
…..Or something.
I don’t get it either. And what creeped me out was that, what, 26, 27ish Katy Perry is not just partyin’ with the high school kids like it’s nothing unusual, but waking up with a strange one in her bed? WHAT? How is that not a crime…? This confuses me infinitely.
Your method of dealing with strangers sounds completely rational. Totally Carl the Llama approved.
XD And I hate their whole “trying to make her look nerdy” thing. Let the pop stars be pop stars and the rest of us will never have to be scarred…..
I wore my Llamas with Hats shirt yesterday, and I think I kinda grossed my grandparents out. Thank goodness they didn’t understand it, at least. It’s just the whole “rumblies” line….
…’cause my mom wouldn’t let me get the “Friendship: two llamas munching on a well-cooked face together” one. Darnit.
Love it!!!!!! Your lyrics really work to the origianal ones. They where amusing too.
~
Autumn
Thanks! 🙂
Haha! I had never heard this song so I didn’t read your version but I went with my friend this weekend to visit family so we ended up listening to music four hours straight. Heard this song and then really wanted to read your version. Yours is so much better 😀 And I was not disappointed, it’s as epic as your other parodies.
🙂 Thank you! Yeah, I heard this song over at my friend’s house, got the beat stuck in my head (along with some of the words >.<) and had to make a parody.
