Our copy of Skyward Sword hasn’t come yet (although we’re on the verge of checking the mail every two hours, just in case), so I can’t blog about it tonight as I had planned. Guess I’d better write an actual post… sigh.
The NaNoWriMo front:
I’m doing better. I still have a lot to catch up on, but our trip to the Grand Canyon includes a lot of commute… perfect writing time! Plus finals don’t start until December 1st, THANK GOODNESS.
I watched a really lovey-dovey Korean/Chinese comedy on Saturday, and as a result two of my characters are romantically involved–the same two characters I vowed on November 1st would never become romantically involved. In my defense, however, their characters are a lot different developmentally-wise than I’d originally planned (but fuller this way, I think). Guess we’ll see how that sideplot turns out.
I started writing some flashback scenes, because I needed to establish the character of Sparrow with the reader before they can truly understand how much Nola misses him. I hesitate because I don’t want to spell out THEY WERE BEST FRIENDS, and treat the reader like they can’t even infer that from Nola’s depression after his funeral. I’ll probably take all of them out during the editing process… but it is helping me to understand her actions more.
The Pen-Tablet Front:
Better? Maybe? I’m trying to figure out how layers work right now. For practice, I’m drawing over a bunch of old art from my sketchbook.
The School Front:
Finals officially start next Thursday with the Spanish writing exam. Has the semester really gone by so quickly?
The Parks and Rec front (spoiler):
Leslie and Ben are back together again! Do you know how happy this makes me? Ben is SO cute, with his constant nerdy ramblings and pessimistic adorableness. He and Leslie are perfect for each other, and I HATED all the awkward episodes where they were trying to be friends.
The Dubstep Front:
Following Saturday’s awesome dancing, here’s a somewhat… nerdier… remix.
I never blogged about seeing Les Mis live, did I? Huh. I guess all there really is to say is that I cried–okay, sobbed uncontrollably–at least four times. (The beginning, One Day More, Enjolras’ death, and Empty Chairs at Empty Tables.)
Also, Thenardier was played by Michael Kostroff, also known as Marshall from Sonny with a Chance. Very weird (since I watched virtually every episode of that show at least twice…), but he did the role justice.
(Haha, I’ve had this blog for almost a year and a half and I just figured out you could change the formatting to include headings and stuff.)
Question: How's your novel going? And if you're not participating in NaNoWriMo, what's the coolest dubstep remix you've ever heard?
My first year in NaNoWriMo – not too bad right now. Unfortunately, I do need to catch up some, but that’s what break is for right? And despite everyone telling me to not go back and edit my novel, I had to. It was killing me because my main character seemed like some wimpy weak little girl who loves dresses. I had to make arrangements. Now, she is less wimpy, and not that bad really. And I just came up with a really exciting ending, so all in all, my novel is pretty good. Oh, and have fun at the Grand Canyon! I love the Grand Canyon.
My nanowrimo isn’t doing so good. I was without power the first few days, got a lot done on the 4th through 5th days, and then just completely forgot about it. I still work on it a little each day, but I’m no where close to being done.
And lucky! You get to go the grand canyon for thanksgiving, I get to listen to my family fighting like animals over politics. Why can’t we all just get along?
This time it’s my turn to spam your blog with comments =) I’ve been gone way too long!
Haha, I love all the titles and fonts and things. NaNoWriMo for me at the time you posted this was… Nonexistent, you might say. I stopped writing somewhere around Sunday and didn’t start up again until Thursday (Thanksgiving) but I still succeeded, somehow.
Also, that’s so cool you got to see Les Mis! You are so lucky =)
